FAQ

Q: Is this the same event as the IAS Show & Sale?

  • A: Yes, it's the same event held every year, just with a different name.

Q: Why the name change?

  • A: We want this event to be bigger, better, and more successful than any other year. The name change invites more plant enthusiasts to our event that don't necessarily know what an aroid is. In doing so we have the opportunity to educate the public on the wonderful world of aroids.

Q: Why the venue change?

  • A: While we absolutely love Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden, we know that hosting the event in September can lead us to a myriad of weather concerns. Not only that, but we recognize that more vendors would like to participate in our event and in order to do so we needed a bigger space to host. That's why we chose to host this year's event at the Fair Expo Center, which includes 49,000 square feet of air conditioned space. This new space gives us the opportunity to host more vendors, more attendees, more activities, and...well, just MORE.

Q: Is the event still just for aroids?

  • A: Our focus still remains on aroids, but given that we know every aroid lover also collects other plants as well, plus the fact that most vendors sell more than just aroids we've decided to open up to a larger variety of plants. Not to mention, 49,000 square feet and around 60 vendors would lead to too much competition over the same aroids for sale. Our show competition, speaking engagements, workshops, member sales table, and auctions will still be aroid-focused.
